Thelma Mae McConnell Obituary Thelma Mae McConnell, 89, of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away in Cleveland, Oklahoma April 1, 2008. She was born on February 16, 1919, in Red Fork, Oklahoma to John Alford and Melvina (Collins) Bales. Thelma worked as a cook for the Hominy Nursing Home. She was devoted to her nieces and raised her niece Delores. She was a member of the St. Josephs Catholic Church in Hominy. Thelma is survived by three nieces: Delores Rogers of Hominy; Judy Hull of Cleveland and Shirley Couffer of Hominy. She was special to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dahl McConnell, two brothers Vernie and Granville Buskirk and one sister Mertyl King. Funeral services for Thelma were held Friday, April 4, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at the St. Josephs Catholic Church in Hominy, Oklahoma with Father Bruce Brosnahan officiating. Interment in A.J. Powell Cemetery was under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy.
