Sandra Elaine Downing Obituary Sandra Elaine Downing, age 58, of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away November 29, 2008 at Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sandra was born on December 21, 1949 to Paul and Helen (Pospisil) Schroeter at Norfolk, Nebraska. Sandra and Max Downing were married March 20, 1972. She had lived in Hominy since 1982. Sandra had been employed with Oklahoma Department of Corrections as a secretary for the Medical Department. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and Boy Scout Den Mother and had two sons that were Eagle Scouts. She attended the Nazarene Church in Hominy. She is survived by her husband Max of the home- her parents- Paul and Helen Schroeter of Norfolk, Nebraska; four children- Sara Wells and husband John of New York, Zachary Downing and wife Kimberly of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Aaron Downing and wife Katie of Bixby, Oklahoma and Jennifer Downing of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Six grandchildren- Mara, Jonah, Hailey, Kamryn, Bryson and Aiden. Two sisters- Pam King and husband Keith of Newman Grove, Nebraska and Debbie Linse and husband Doug of Tilden, Nebraska, and numerous cousins. Services will be Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Hominy, First Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Brown officiating. Casket bearers were Zack Downing, Aaron Downing, Chris Cramston, Joe Hensley, Brett King and Matt King. Burial will be in the A.J. Powell Cemetery. Arrangements were made with the Powell Funeral Hominy, Oklahoma.
