Rosalie Youtsey

Rosalie Youtsey, resident of Nowata and formerly of Hominy, passed from this life on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Clarehouse Hospice facility in Tulsa. She was 86 years of age. Rosalie was born July 3, 1939, in Quamata, New Mexico to James Alex and Dovie Mae (Sanders) Hinds. She was raised and received her education in Oklahoma. She was first married to Melvin Klundt on January 7, 1958, in Montana. They raised their kids in Colorado. She later moved with her daughter from Colorado to Oklahoma, settling in Hominy. Rosalie was later married to Leo Tillman Youtsey on April 28, 1977, at Hominy. In later years, they moved to Nowata County, where they made their home by their kids. Leo preceded her in death on March 18, 2021.

For many years, Rosalie worked as a hairdresser, and for the City of Hominy. She also had her own secondhand store in Hominy and wasn't afraid to tackle anything in life. She's been known to get on her own roof and lay her own floor...in the last year! She was an amazing woman with a huge heart. Rosalie had an infectious smile that would light up any occasion and enjoyed being outdoors, whether her yard or garden, or just "piddling" as she called it.

She loved and was very proud of her kids and enjoyed being with her family most of all. She was in her element when her family gathered for any occasion...she absolutely sparkled! She also took great pride in her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Her friends also meant a great deal to her. She has several lifelong friendships, with special ladies who have all come from out of state to spend time with her.

Rosalie enjoyed arts and crafts, restoring used items and watching old westerns on TV. She frequently went out for the day with her daughter, who both would lose track of time, and would receive a talking to for being late. Ha

Pets were also a must for her, and she had many over her lifetime including her and Leo's beloved dog Buttons, her chickens, and her current dogs and cats...Snickers, Tara, Teddy, Keely, Noke, Bright-Eyes and Smoky.

Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include her children - Rhonda Klundt, Dean Klundt and wife Debby, Vanessa Hudson and husband Sidney and Scott Youtsey and wife Nellie; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Carson Hinds, from Georgia, niece Nancy Hinds of Georgia and a nephew Brett Hinds of McAlester, OK. Besides her husband Leo, Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents James and Dovie Mae.

Visitation for Rosalie will be from 2pm -5pm on Wednesday, September 24 and from 10am till 7pm on Thursday, September 25th. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Terlton Cemetery, Terlton, OK with Chaplain Dave McPherson of Suncrest Hospice Officiating.
