Nishon Archer McMillen was born on February 26, 1981 in, Portland, Oregon to Travis Neal McMillen and Rhonda Marie Bakerian McMillen. He passed from this life on Sunday, November 4, 2012 in Kailua, Hawaii having reached the age of 31 years, 9 months, and 9 days. He obtained his Associates in Business from Northern Oklahoma College and married Charmaine Nicole Ross on May 21, 2008. He was serving as an Avionics Technician with the United States Navy at the Marine Corp Base in Hawaii. He served as Vice President of the Multicultural Awareness Program at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida leading 22 personnel in promoting the CNO’s diversity message by successfully coordinating 11 base-wide observances. His efforts resulted in heightened workforce diversity awareness for over 1,000 attendees. He was recognized for demonstrating expert technical ability, completing 155 maintenance actions and 1,523 man-hours requiring zero rework resulting in a superb 96 percent ready-for-issue rate while supporting 15 tenant commands and five areas of responsibility. He has devoted over 1500 volunteer hours to Clay County Schools, Clay Pal Youth Football, Cathedral Gerontology Center, and Clay Habitat for Humanity, and NOL Jax Youth Baseball. Nishon loved to fish, watch college and professional football, and loved watching his favorite baseball team the San Francisco Giants. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his wife Charmaine and two sons, Aziel and Braylen. Nishon is survived by his loving wife, Charmaine Nicole (Ross) McMillen, Kailua, Hawaii; 2 Sons, Aziel Saige and Braylen Gabriel McMillen, Kailua, Hawaii; mother, Rhonda Marie McMillen, Kailua, Hawaii; brother-in-laws, Bernell Eugene Murray of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Ronald Jarell and his wife, Amanda, daughter, Ileana Lynn Murray of San Antonio, Texas; mother-in-law, Leslie Lynn Murray of West Virginia; father-in-law, Ronald D. Murray of Stillwater, OK and Aunt, Roxy Bakerian, Monterrey, California. Nishon was preceded in death by his father, Travis McMillen, grandmother Barbara Marbones and grandfather, Jack Nishon Bakerian. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma Memorial accounts have been set up for his two sons, Aziel and Braylen McMillen at the Navy Federal Credit Union, 25 Kaneohe Bay Dr., #220, Kailua, Hawaii 96734.
