Mary Ellen (Smith) Adams Obituary Mary Ellen (Smith) Adams was born in Oilton, Oklahoma on July 21, 1930 to William Alfred and Eva Mae (Rose) Smith. She went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2014. Mary was born the 2nd of 5 children and grew up in Oilton and Barnsdall. She had an adventurous childhood, along with her brothers and sisters. Mary graduated from Barnsdall High School in 1948, where she was homecoming queen her senior year. She starred in many high school plays and loved the stage. Mary was married to George W. Adams in 1949 and they made their home in Hominy, Oklahoma. They were blessed with 5 children. Mary was a dental assistant, and co-owned the local tastee-freeze in Hominy. She attended the First Presbyterian Church in Hominy. She was a long-time member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority and a Jaycee Jane. She was a world class water skier and love to camp. Mary was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother to her very large family. Mary never met a stranger and always put the needs of others before her own. Mary is survived by a son: Darrel Adams and wife Kim of Dewey, Oklahoma, a daughter: Diana Kline-Ritchie of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; two sisters: Charlyne Rybka of Dewey, Oklahoma and Patty Wilson of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; one brother Milton Smith and wife Sheila of Dathne, Alabama; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; one sister: Mozella Tillison, one daughter: Sharol Lynn Connon, two sons: Warren Eugene Adams and Robert Warren Adams. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chuck McCarthy, of the Bible Church of Bartlesville. CD Music selections were "How Great Thou Art", "The Rose" and "When I Get Where I'm Going". Casket Bearers were Daniel Adams, Zachary Adams, Brock Kendrick, Scott Lutke, Robert Hammond and Jim Lane. Interment will be in the A.J. Powell Cemetery under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy. www.powellfuneralservice.com
