Margaret Lillie Mahan

Margaret Lillie(Key) Mahan was born March 19, 1922, to Andrew J. Key and Dora V. Key in Hazen, Arkansas. Margaret passed from this life on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at her home rural Pawnee, Oklahoma having reached the age of 92 years, 11 months, and 9 days. Margaret married Laymon M. Mahan on November 12, 1946 in Wellington, Kansas. Laymon preceded her in death on September 27, 2003. They moved to the Pawnee area from Choctaw, Oklahoma 42 years ago. Margaret’s affiliation was with the Baptist Church. Margaret loved to do gardening and quilting Margaret is survived by three sons and two daughters: Jack Mahan, Harry Mahan, Judy Hellwig, Nelson Clopine, and Marjorie Porter, seven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, two sisters, Aline Dickerson and Betty Nossaman as well as other relatives and many friends. Besides her husband, Laymon Mahan, Margaret was preceded in death by her son Lewis Brewer. Services will be held, 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 5, 2015,at the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel in Pawnee, Oklahoma with Ron Keeling officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, Oklahoma under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
