Lisa Ann Crenshaw Brixie of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away peacefully from this life on October 29, 2025, at her home in Hominy, Oklahoma, at the age of 62.
Lisa was born on May 15, 1963, in Fairfax, Oklahoma, to Floyd and Phyllis Crenshaw. She grew up in Hominy, where she attended school and graduated with the Hominy High School Class of 1981. Then she attended Northeastern Oklahoma A&M college in Miami, OK. In 1988, she married the love of her life, Bobby Brixie, and together they shared a joyful, loving marriage filled with laughter and adventure at every turn. They were blessed with two children, Bryson and Ashlyn, whom Lisa loved deeply.
Lisa began her career as a lab technician at Southwest Pathology in Tulsa, where she worked for several years before transitioning into medical transcription. She then spent more than 20 years with Custom Medical Scribe in Tulsa, a role she loved, until a stroke in 2012 led to her early retirement. Even then, her strength, humor, and determination never wavered as she faced each day with resilience.
Lisa was known for her sharp wit, vibrant personality, love of music, and the way she could brighten any room she walked into. Family was at the heart of everything Lisa did. She treasured any moment spent with her loved ones—whether it was a spontaneous day trip, a relaxed movie night at home, or hosting holidays, Bedlam games, or her legendary family game nights. Known as the “trivia queen” and strict keeper of the rules, Lisa made it clear that game night attendance was not optional—everyone played, even the losing team…also known as Dale’s team.
She welcomed others with open arms and truly never met a stranger. If she wasn’t in her office on the computer, she was planning the next adventure—or slipping away to the casino for a little fun. Lisa’s legacy is one of love, humor, and devotion to the people she cared for most. She will be deeply missed.
Lisa is survived by her children, Bryson Brixie of Edmond, OK, and Ashlyn Brixie of Tahlequah, OK; her mother, Phyllis Crenshaw of Hominy, OK; her brother, Dale (Gayla) Crenshaw of Hominy, OK; her nephew, Remington Crenshaw; her nieces, Kynlee (Josh) Bible, Adyson (Luke) Hollowell, and Avery Crenshaw; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Brixie; her father, Floyd Crenshaw; her mother-in-law, Juanita Sue Brixie; and her grandparents, Irene Alexander and John & Virda Crenshaw.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a public visitation on Monday, November 3, at Powell Funeral Home in Hominy. A Celebration of Life service will be held the next day, Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Worship Center in Hominy. Powell Funeral Services are entrusted with allarrangements.
