Lindy Rice

Lynn ‘Lindy’ Rice, Jr. was born on January 24, 1947 in Pawnee, Oklahoma at the Pawnee Indian Hospital to Lynn Rice, Sr. and Rena Goodfox Rice. He passed from this life on Sunday, July 20, 2014 in Hondo, Texas having reached the age of 67 years, 5 months and 27 days. He resided in Hondo, Texas and worked as an Investigator for the City of Hondo Police Department. He graduated from Pawnee High School in 1965, and attended Central Oklahoma State on a basketball scholarship. Lynn is a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. He worked in law enforcement for over forty years that included Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department, the City of Oklahoma City Police Department, the City of Tulsa Police Department, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs and the City of Hondo Police Department. He enjoyed music, good food and watching his favorite teams; Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees. Most of all he enjoyed his family and grandbabies. He is survived by Debi Rice of Hondo, Texas, one son; Lynn II of Hondo, Texas and his family, three daughters; Tresa Ann of Muskogee, Oklahoma and her family, Meghan Elizabeth of New York City, New York and Kathryn Ryan of Little Rock, Arkansas and family, siblings; Mitchell Rice of Tulsa, Oklahoma and family, Tommy Rice of Stillwater, Oklahoma and family, Clarice Tselee of Stillwater, Oklahoma and family and Rosemary Rice of Pawnee, Oklahoma and family, aunts; Florence Goodfox of Pawnee, Oklahoma and family, Wanda Kanuho and family, plus a number of grandbabies, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings; Rodney Rice, Jeffrey Rice and Darrell Rice, aunts; Elvina Wilson, Betty Goodfox Garcia and Henrietta Goodfox Pratt, uncle; Lawrence Goodfox Jr. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Pawnee Nation Roam Chief Event Center in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Interment will be at North Indian Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
