Katherine Lynette Reid

Katherine (Kathy) Lynette Reid, 78, ended her earthly journey Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

She was born August 11, 1947, in Hominy, Oklahoma, a daughter of Clarence G. and Wyvon (Hutchens) Haworth. Kathy was a graduate of Burbank High School in Burbank, Oklahoma. She attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

On June 10, 1966, she was united in marriage in Fairfax, Oklahoma to Rodger L. Reid, who was absolutely smitten with her from the moment they met. Rodger preceded her in death.

Kathy dedicated her professional career as an accountant for the Jefferson City Housing Authority until her retirement, while also managing the finances for her family’s business, Capital City Fence. A woman of profound faith, she was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She taught Children’s Church for many years at Calvary Baptist Church. Kathy also shared her time as a Girl Scout leader for her daughters’ troop. She found great joy in gardening, tending to her beloved roses. She enjoyed horseback riding and her cherished horse, Jessie Pal. Animals held a special place in her heart, especially her cats, Riki, Toffee, and Sweetie Pie, whom she lovingly adopted after their mother moved them under her porch. Above all, Kathy’s greatest pleasure was her family. Her sweet, kind nature leaves them with a lifetime of beautiful memories.

Reid of Jefferson City, MO, and VaLinda Dudenhoeffer (Bill) of Taos, MO; two brothers: Richard Haworth (Betty), Mike Haworth; one sister: Debbie Tubbs (Paul) ; four grandchildren: Lily Ann Jawad, Hannah Isabel Jawad, Allison Mae Dudenhoeffer (Luke), and Trevor Reid Dudenhoeffer (Paige).
