Jackie Wade Walker, 66 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016 at his home in Hominy.
Jackie was born in Hominy on November 22, 1949 to Theodore Roosevelt and Geneva Juanita (Lopez) Walker. He graduated from Hominy High School and immediately upon graduation, enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and subsequently was sent to Vietnam.
Jackie worked in A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery for the City of Hominy for a time. He enjoyed fishing and hunting rabbits and squirrels. He liked hanging out with the fellows and having cookouts. He loved listening to music and walking outside and enjoying nature.
Jackie is survived by nine brothers & sisters: Theodore Walker Jr. and his wife Carol; Shirley Hudson and her husband, Frank; Bobby Walker and his wife, Delores; Lois Robinson and her husband, Charles; Bernie Walker; Ronnie Walker; Carl Walker; Isaac Walker and Christopher Walker.
Jackie is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Jerry Walker and Randy Walker.
Jackie's family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Maggie Calvert for her excellent care and attention given to Jackie for the past five years.
Services for Jackie Wade Walker were at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Hominy, Oklahoma with Pastor Travis Finley officiating and Frank Hudson and Timmie Crawford speaking. Pallbearers were: Mike Hudson, Melvin Crawford, Howard Crawford, James Crawford, Paul Hudson and Timmie Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers are: Lambert Johnson, Ricky Butler, Louis Sparks and Christopher Holding. Musical selections were: "I've Learned to lean", "Another Blessing" and "Jesus Will Fix It". Burial with the United States Marine Corps Military Honors followed the service at A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy.
