Gerald May

Gerald Alvie May, age 65, of Hominy passed from this life on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at his home. Gerald was born in Hominy on July 11, 1959, to Cephie and Sarah (Callahan) May. He was raised and received his education in Hominy, graduating from Hominy High School in 1978. Gerald was united in marriage to Nancy Hutchison on February 22, 1980, in Hominy. To this union, a son was born. Gerald worked in the oil fields for many years until health issues forced his retirement. He was a Christian and loved his Lord. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, building bird houses and birdwatching and having coffee with his brother. Almost every weekend, he and his brothers Danny and Gary would drive around looking at wildlife.

Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his wife, Nancy; son Jason and wife Deana; his siblings - Milford (Freda) May of Calico Rock, Arkansas, Marvin May of Prue, Kenith (Lavonne) May of Prue, Danny (Dorothy) May of Hominy, Gary May of Perry, OK and Jessie (Mary) May of Hominy. He is also survived by Cricket, his faithful companion. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Randy and Dale May, Sister Nona Joy Rhine, nephews Brian May and Christopher Brown, sisters-in-law Lynn Hutchison, Johnnie Lou May and Shirley May Horton, and mother & father-in-law Bryan and Vena Hutchison.

Funeral services for Gerald will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary of the First Christian Church of Hominy with Everett Waller officiating. Burial will follow at the A.J.
