Garon Gaile Clemishire Halbert

Garon Gaile (Halbert) Clemishire, 86, passed away on July 29, 2026. She was born September 12, 1939, in Corsicana, Texas, to Clyde Finley Halbert and Reba Vernon (Noble) Halbert. She was raised in Corsicana, Texas later moved to Tulsa, where she attended Elliott Elementary School and graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1957.

On April 5, 1957, Garon married the love of her life, Bob Clemishire, in Chandler, Oklahoma. The two were brought together through a family member and shared 49 years of marriage. Together they built a life centered around family, faith, and the simple things that meant the most. The loss of her husband was one of the greatest challenges she faced in her life.

Garon devoted her life to her home and family as a homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family will remember her as both lovable and stern-a woman who loved deeply, kept everyone in line when necessary, and always made sure things were taken care of.

She enjoyed reading, mowing, and-perhaps most memorably-vacuuming. When her family thinks of Mom or Grandma, they can easily picture her with a vacuum nearby. She also had an appreciation for the usefulness of a little duct tape, proving that sometimes the simplest things can fix just about anything.

Some of Garon's treasured family memories were made fishing at Beaver Lake. She loved her dogs and enjoyed the companionship they brought throughout her life. Her faith was also an important part of who she was, and she served as a Sunday School secretary.

Garon is survived by her children, Cathy Ward and husband Wayne, Debby Womack, and Chris Clemishire and wife Traci; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Lyndle Silkey; along with other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Clemishire; her parents, Clyde Halbert and Vernon Halbert; and other loved ones who went before her.

A service celebrating Garon's life will be held at First Baptist Church in Hominy, Oklahoma, with Mark Formby officiating. Musical selections will include Amazing Grace, Jesus Loves Me, and Victory in Jesus, with music by Arin Warren. Interment will follow at A.J. Powell Cemetery in Hominy.

Garon leaves behind a lifetime of memories-family gatherings, fishing trips, the dogs she loved, her strong personality, her faith, and the countless everyday moments that made her uniquely "Mom" and "Grandma." Her family will remember a woman who was strong, loving, and devoted to those she called her own.
