Eunice Hensley, age 93 of Hominy, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 10, 2026. She lived a long and meaningful life rooted in faith, family and gratitude for life's simple blessings.
Eunice was born on August 15, 1932 to James Ellis Jackson and Georgia Wade Jackson. Growing up Eunice lived and attended school in the towns of Battiest and Butner before moving to the Wewoka area. Eunice was married to Billy Jack Hensley on September 28, 1953. Bill and Eunice were married for 58 years. To this union were born two sons, Larry Hensley and Kent Hensley. Eunice spent many years as a homemaker, a role she cherished deeply as she cared for and nurtured her family. She also worked from home as a telephone answering service for the family owned business Sooner Pride Services. She often remarked, how special it was that her, her husband and sons could all work together and did so for many years.
Eunice was a woman of deep and unwavering faith, She shared her love for God with everyone she met. Her faith guided her life and shaped the kindness and compassion she showed others. She also spoke often and proudly about the love she had for her family. Eunice found joy in the simple things in life. She took great pride in her yard and flowers and loved caring for them. Time spent outdoors tending to her plants and mowing her yard brought her peace and happiness. She even won the community "Best Yard" award. Those who knew Eunice will remember her as a woman of faith, warmth and quiet strength who never met a stranger. Her legacy of love, devotion to family and steadfast faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Eunice is survived by her son Kent Hensley and his wife Sara, daughter-in-law Linda Hensley, grandsons: Joe Hensley and his wife Cassie, Justin Hensley, Skyler Hensley and his wife Kaylee and Seth Hensley. She is survived by Great-Grandchildren Abigail Hensley and Ezekiel Hensley. She is survived by her sister-in-law Wanda Hensley, her forever friend Shirley Miller and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. Eunice is also survived by her devoted caretaker, Cecilia Passmore, whose care and companionship meant so much to her. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband Bill Hensley, her son Larry Hensley and her eight siblings.
Visitation for Eunice will be Sunday, March 15th from 2pm - 4pm at the Powell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday in the chapel of the Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Graves officiating. Committal rites will follow at the AJ Powell Memorial Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
