Ellis LuDon Peters, 93, passed from this life Weds, March 15, 2023, at his home in Cleveland, OK.
LuDon was born at home on January 4, 1930, to Vilious and Ida Blanche (Redecker)Peters. He grew up in the Hominy area. He attended Hominy Public Schools. He played football for the Hominy Bucks. LuDon graduated with honors in 1950.
After graduation LuDon joined the Army National Guard, he went active duty during the Korean Conflict. Private First Class, Ellis L. Peters received an honorable discharge in June 1952. He was proud to be of service to his country. After returning home from Korea, LuDon went to work in the oil fields. He spent his career working here and eventually offshore. He spent time in Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Thailand, Columbia, New Guinea, Malaysia, and Singapore. He would be gone for a month or two at a time and then be home for a month.
LuDon married Betty June Pope on February 25, 1954. They had two sons, Steven and Kevin and one daughter, Debbie. They raised their family in the Hominy area. After Betty passed in 2002, LuDon married Dixie Beegle. After she passed, he married Judy Hull in 2008. They made their home in the Cleveland area where he lived his best life.
LuDon enjoyed spending time with family. He loved tinkering on things and was an avid fisherman. He loved watching boxing. He will be missed.
LuDon is survived by his wife, Judy of the home; two sons, Steven (Yuliza) Peters and Kevin (Kellie)Peters; one daughter, Debbie (Wayne) Dilley. Grandchildren Christina (Brad) Kirchner, Steven Peters, Mandy (Dusty) Durraso, Curtis Peters, Jason Peters, Dafne Mejia, Jasmine Peters, Alex Mejia, Matthew (Sarah) Garrison, Devin (Kayla) Robinson, Kalyn (Mitch) Garfield, Kendra Dilley, Kamron Dilley and Wayne Dilley along with numerous great grandchildren. Preceded in death by Parents Vilious and Blanche Peters; his wives Betty June and Lena Dixie Peters his brother, Glenn Peters; and sister, Carol Dean.
Service of Ellis LuDon Peters will be at Powell Funeral Service in Hominy, Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 2:00pm. Visitation will be Tuesday Morning, March 21, 2023 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Burial at A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy, Oklahoma
