Dan R. Hively, aka Seven Knows The Country, passed from this life on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the Ascension St. John Medical Center, Tulsa at the age of 80 years. Dan was born August 14, 1944, in Sherman, Texas to Leeman R. and Lela Faye (Green) Hively. He was raised and received his education in both Texas and Arizona. Dan entered the US Army on August 23, 1961, at Kansas City, MO and was honorably discharged on May 4, 1962, at Fort Sill, OK with the rank of Private First Class.
In 1976, Dan started his career in law enforcement and moved to Hominy in July of 1990. He served with both the Pawnee and Osage County Sheriff’s offices as well as with the Osage Nation Tribal Police before retirement. Dan was avid about horses, motorcycles and cars.
Dan (Seven) is survived by his daughter – Barbie Clark and husband Randy of Goodman, Missouri, David Hively of Neosho, MO; a brother Benny and a sister Karen as well as 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Janie, a son Danny and grandson Robbie.
