Weepy P. (Jay) Moles Obituary Weepy Junior (Jay) Moles, age 85 of Wynona, Oklahoma departed this life with his beloved wife, Joyce at his side to be forever with his Lord and savior, Jesus, on December 29, 2008 at Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Weepy was born September 11, 1923 to Weepy Paschal and Virgie Lee (Gatlin) Moles in Porum, Oklahoma. He moved with his family at a young age to the Hominy/Wynona farming community. He attended school in Wynona until he was drafted into the Army. He served bravely and honorably in both World War II and the Korean Conflict where he received several accommodations, including the Bronze Star. After fourteen years in the Army he returned to Wynona to assist his parents in the retirement years. Jay and Joyce were members of the VFW, and the American Legion Post #198 of Pawhuska where they were very active. Jay was an honor guard and Joyce served in the womans Auxiliary. They were members of the Wynona Pentecostal Church. They lived 17 years in the Grand Lake area where Jay was a volunteer Fire Fighter at Lake Montshores in Jay, Oklahoma. Weepy married Joyce Jeanette Thomas in June of 1980 in Miami, Oklahoma. Weepy worked in the oilfield and pipelines as a driller and tool dresser. He will be remembered by family and friends as a kind and gentle man. Fishing and hunting with family was his great joy. He leaves behind hundreds of Uncle Jay stories to be remembered by his sisters, children, grandchildren, brother-in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Weepy is survived by a daughter- Crystil Dawn Cleveland of Catoosa, Oklahoma; two step daughters- Cynthia Maker of Hominy and Kay Woods of Wynona; two step sons- David Martin of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Cole Pinkerton and wife Dawn of Nevada. Two grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, twelve step great grandchildren and one step great, great grandchild. Two sisters- Nancy McCosar and Maudie Case both of Pawhuska, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Phillip and Pete Moles, sisters Margaret Harding, Dora Thomas, Ola Mae Boyles, Ruby Dotson and Mary Moles who died as an infant, step granddaughter Amy Hays and step son Daniel Martin Funeral Services for Weepy were held Friday, January 2, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church, Wynona, Oklahoma with Bro. Carl Stage officiating. Music was Amazing Grace , and Im Going Home sung by Ruth Downing. Taped selections were Angels Among Us , Remember When and Amazing Grace . Casket bearers were Lewis Thomas, Chad Thomas, Ervin Mersch, Buddy Mersch, Shawn McCosar and James Moles. Honorary Casket bearers were Darrell Moles and Steven Moles. Interment in the A.J. Powell Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Veterans Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #198 was under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy.
