Cecil Wayne Garner was born on December 7, 1938 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Raymond Cecil Garner and Bertha Gladys Eaton Garner. He passed from this life on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his home in Pawnee, Oklahoma having reached the age of 75 years, 5 months, and 24 days. He attended Pawnee Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1957. He married Leota Mae Sharp on December 26, 1958 in the home of Reverend Hitt in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He was a retired fireman, and also retired from the Pawnee Public Schools. He loved all sports, especially those involving young kids. He loved to play and coach, and also loved to fish and camp with his family. He enjoyed playing golf, not only with his family, but especially with his golf buddies. Even more so, he was a great joker who could always make people smile and laugh. Wayne is survived by his wife, Leota of the home in Pawnee; two sons, Terry Garner and his wife, Theresa, of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Randy Garner and his wife, Susan, of Tuttle, Oklahoma; daughter, Lisa Garner and her friend, Paula Flood, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan, Seth, Hannah, Tyler and Matthew Garner, and Michael and Cassidy Flood; and two brothers, Ray Garner of Mannford, Oklahoma, and Melvin Garner and his wife, Sharon, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bertha Garner; three brothers, Harold Garner, Lloyd Garner, and Carl Garner; and his sister, Lois Skidgel. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, Pawnee, Oklahoma with Rev. John Coker officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
