W.T. Ted Marcum Obituary W.T. Ted Marcum, 88 of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away August 2, 2010 at the Cleveland Area Hospital. Ted was born on March 5, 1922 in Amber, Oklahoma to James and Elizabeth (Swindell) Marcum. He was a 1941 graduate of Amber High School. Ted moved to Hominy in 1941. He worked for the Dowell Company until retiring in 1981 and then became a cattleman. Ted married Ora Mae Petty on August 1, 1976. Ted is survived by his wife Ora Mae of the home- five children- E.J. Marcum and wife Janet of Kerrville, Texas, Ted Marcum Jr. and wife Mary of Littleton, Colorado, Duane Petty of Hominy, Bryan Petty of Benbrook, Texas and Denise Redmond and husband John of Tulsa; six grandchildren- Warrant Officer Beau Marcum, Jordan Marcum, Jake, Katy, Emma and Abby Redmond; and a sister- Dovie Shedd of Hominy, Oklahoma. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services for Ted were held Friday, August 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hominy with Pastor Mark Formby and Brad Butler officiating. Musician for the service was Gerry Lay. Casket Bearers were Beau Marcum, Jordan Marcum, Chuck Shedd, Jerry Ballard, John Redman and John Tucker. Honorary Casket Bearer was Gary Shedd. Interment in the A.J. Powell Cemetery was under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
