Thomas A. "Gizmo" Driscoll, Sr. Thomas A. "Gizmo" Driscoll, Sr., 51, passed away peacefully at his home in Pawhuska, Oklahoma after a very long illness. Thomas was born in Newark, New Jersey to Thomas John and Mary Ellen (Gregory) Driscoll on February 25, 1963. He married Teresa Shores in 1990. He grew up in Hominy and he and Teresa moved to Pawhuska in 2005. He served in the US Army for 6 years active and 3 years in the Reserve. He was awarded The Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon for his service to his country. Thomas worked for Skip's Oilfield Service in Pawhuska, and has also worked for CRS, building ambulances in Pawhuska, H&H Wire & Metal Finishing in Wichita, KS, The City of Hominy and also as a Truck Driver. Thomas was a man who was well known for loving his family and friends. He was so helpful to everyone he met and there wasn't anyone he wouldn't give the shirt off his back if it would help them. He was a devoted, big hearted father and the most loving, hardworking husband to his wife, Teresa. He loved everyone dearly, his wife, his kids, every grandchild, his family and his friends. He often quoted, "Before I had my kids, I had my wife. Before I had my wife, I had my siblings." Thomas is survived by his wife, Teresa, 3 sons; Thomas A. Driscoll, Jr., of Pawhuska, OK, Robert Arthur Driscoll of Pawhuska, OK and Matthew Thomas Driscoll of Prue, OK, step-daughter, Jillian Jones of Hominy, OK, step-son, James Jones of Pawhuska, OK, 10 Grandchildren; Shyann Jones, James Lee Jones, Jr., Steven Jones, Edward Jones, Faye Jones, Justin Smith, Jr, Evan McLaughlin, Jeremiah Owensby, Megan Owensby and Lily Rayne Driscoll, his father, Thomas John Driscoll of Nevada, 3 brothers; Daniel Driscoll of Wichita, KS, Gerald Driscoll of Pensacola, FL and James Driscoll of Emporia, KS and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Thomas is preceded in death by his mother, 2 sisters; Doreen Joy Driscoll and Susan Driscoll Bohard. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Pastor David Gamble officiating. Pallbearers were Cody Edwards, Cody Yates, Scott Marioth, Jr., Scott Bighorse, Johnny Brazee, Matt Gilley, Marc Sutton, Bill Harris and Ron Ellsberry. Musical selections were: "Picture" by Kidd Rock, "Toes" by The Zach Brown Band, "Country Boy Can Survive" by Hank Williams, Jr. and "Some Day Lady You'll Accompany Me" by Bob Seager. Burial followed at A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home in Hominy, Oklahoma. Online Memorials may be left at powellfuneralservice.com.
