Teresa Mae Denney Obituary Teresa Denney, 78 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and formerly of Hominy passed away September 8, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born August 29, 1932 in Overton, Nebraska to Harvey and Margaret (Brennan) Potter. Teresa was a member of the St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She moved to Hominy in 1955 and then to Broken Arrow in 2000. She was owner and operator of Teresas Drive-in in Wynona for many years. She was a hard worker, and everyone enjoyed eating a hamburger at Teresas. Her customers would often hear Teresa ask, Was everything alright for yall? She considered all of her customers family. Besides her work at the drive-in she was a very devoted mother and wife, and grandmother. Teresa is survived by her husband Thomas of the home, and two sons- Jim Denney and his wife Carole, of Spring, Texas and Tommy Denney and his wife Terri of Broken Arrow. Three grandchildren- Tommy Denney and wife Sharon, James Denney and wife Sheena and Garron T. Denney. One great grandson- Thomas Denney and she was expecting two more great grandchildren. Teresa is also survived by her close sister- Mary Hoffman of Broken Arrow. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents- a son- Johnny Denney and brother- Jimmy Potter. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Hominy. Father Bruce Brosnahan will officiate the mass. Casket bearers will be Jim Denney, Tommy Denney, Tommy Denney, James Denney, Garron T. Denney, and Ronnie LaCrone. Burial will be at the A.J. Powell Cemetery in Hominy. Following the funeral around 4 p.m. there will be a reception in honor of Teresa at The Office in Wynona, formerly Teresas Drive-in for those that can come by and visit with the family. Everyone is invited to stop by for refreshments and dinner. Powell Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
