Sherri Dawn Ratliff

Sherri Dawn Lively Ratliff was born May 12, 1958 and passed away on December 23, 2022.

Preceded in death by her father Roger Lively. Survived by her mother Kathrine Brown, sister Wendy Lively, brother Mart Lively, husband Jimmie Ratliff Sr., three sons, Zachariah Maker, Daniel Maker, and Corey Maker; their wives respectively, Bethany, Stacy, and Ashley. her grandchildren, Elizabeth Maker, Emily Maker, Dalton Maker, Dillon Maker, Shayla Maker, Miley Maker, Katelyn Maker, Carol Maker, Jane Maker, and Walker Horton, her step-sons John Ratliff and Jimmie Ratliff II his sons Bramble and Ira Ratliff.

Sherri Dawn loved music, especially country music. She was always singing in the car and in the house. Her boys grew up listening to everything from country and western to Motown, she loved rock and roll and pop. She always said her love of music came from her dad, but more so her Uncle Robbie.

Sherri was a fierce mother, she would defend her children even if they were in the wrong, she always took the side of her kids, and that extended to her grandkids. There was a time when she met a threat to one of her kids at the door with a gun, she then fired 3 shots in the air ready to protect them at all costs. She was a very protective mother, and her life revolved around her boys.

Sherri was a devoted wife to Jimmie Dean. She always had the coffee going and a meal ready for the man who broke his back to give her a house, car, phone, and anything else she ever wanted. Jimmie spoiled her because he loved her. And she loved him and as much as he took care of her, she took care of him.

Sherri was a creative and talented woman. She was capable of making anything from beadwork, woodwork, to food. She spent many hours of her life working away at creating gifts for others. She was a very giving woman, who never expected anything in return. She wanted everyone to know how much she loved them, especially her family.

Above all else, Sherri believed in God and had faith in Him and His will. She knew that Jesus Christ was the savior and she taught her kids how to love God and encouraged them to have faith. She told her children to never believe in what a man tells you, to only believe in the Word of God, to read your Holy Bible. She never lost her faith, even when she was going through bad times, or sickness she never lost her faith.

The funeral will be Wednesday December 28, 2022 at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken Giese officiating. Private burial will follow at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery north of Hominy. The service will be held for her immediate family.
