Russell Wayne Upshaw, 56, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in Hominy, Oklahoma

Russell Upshaw was born September 21, 1966, to David M Upshaw and Jaunita Olivier in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Russell grew up and attended elementary school in Houston, Texas. His family moved to Odessa Texas where he attended high school. After high school the family moved back to Oklahoma and Russell spent the rest of his life in Hominy, Oklahoma.

Russell enjoyed playing the guitar, but it was music in general that became the love of Russell’s life. In his early twenties Russell became disabled and his mother took care of him. Russell was overtaken by smoke in a house fire.

Russell is survived by his mother, Jaunita Olivier; his father David (Bonnie) Upshaw; two sisters, Linda Vargas and Laura Jeanne (Gene) Wilson; three brothers, James (Roberta) Upshaw, Gerald Upshaw, Terry (Anita) Upshaw; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, John and Pearl Fields, Lee and Pearl Upshaw.
