Richard William Hiltzman (Rick), went to heaven February 20, 2020, age 75 at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a long illness.

He was born June 16, 1944 in Cleveland, Oklahoma, the son of Charles and Gay (Connor) Hiltzman.

He went to school in Cleveland until they moved to Hominy where he started Jr. High School. Rich met Carol his wife in Jr. High.

Rick enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard when he was 17 years old. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Fort Sill then shipped to Panama for a year. Later he was sent to Vietnam. He did 2 ½ tours in Vietnam before he came back and married Carol Waffle Kelley, February 25, 1969. They were stationed in Germany until Rick was sent to Vietnam again for a year. He was wounded twice.

He was awarded the Purple Heart plus twelve other medals during his 20 year career.

They were sent back to Germany for a second tour. From there they traveled extensively to Italy, Switzerland, France and other countries.

Rick retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years served in 1982. They lived in Corpus Christi, Texas and he worked as a civilian for several years for the army. Then he worked security work until they moved to Hominy. Rick went to work for Connors Correctional Facility. He worked there for 5 years. He then decided to really retire and helped his wife out in her shops, Carols Antiques and Thrift Shops. He also worked on his houses, buying, selling, and renting them.

Rick was a wonderful artist. He loved to do arts and crafts. He spent hours cutting out his wood and making really neat stuff, painting figures, doing his art, especially his painted ponies and Indian art work.

Rick earned his associates degree in Applied Science and in Arts Mechanic after he got out of the service. He went to Del Man College in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony (Tony) Hiltzman, parents, brothers, Raymond Hiltzman, Jerry Hiltzman and sister. Also his precious grandson, John Mack.

Survivors include: Carol Hiltzman his wife, Richard W. Hiltzman Jr. his son of the home, Pamela Hiltzman daughter of Hominy, daughter Tammy Benedict and her husband Curt Benedict of El Reno, Oklahoma and daughter Debi Hiltzman and her partner Bernie Cox. Grandchildren by first name: Benjamin, Jessica, Dylan, Natasha, Shannon, Christopher, Samantha, Kaelyn, Cristian, Stone, Angel, Michael, Shane, David, Randy, Carl, Teresa, Billy, Clinton, Billy, Teresa, Michael, and Clinton, also great grandkids also 31 more. Nieces and nephews and many friends and also cousins.
