Paul Tarence Denney

Paul Tarence Denney was born on December 8, 1928 in Shamrock, Oklahoma to Matthew Denney and Dora Schoner Denney. He passed from this life on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his home north of Morrison, Oklahoma, having reached the age of 84 years, and 29 days. He married Anna Mae Jelinek on December 23, 1950 in Morrison, Oklahoma, having just celebrated their 62nd anniversary. They made their home in the Watchorn area north of Morrison. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1953 and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Masham Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. He was a rancher and a farmer, and worked in the oilfield for more that fifty-five years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A couple of his favorite pastimes were to check on his cattle, trying to get them to eat out of his hand, and to sit out on his porch in the evening with Anne Mae. Paul is survived by: Wife:Anna Mae Denney Sister:Dale Conrad Children:David Denney & his wife, Mona Darlene Robbins & her husband, Stan Randy Denney & his wife, Erin 11 Grandchildren:Tracie Stanford & her husband, Jimmy Lynsie Monahan Shelby Denney Coy Burns & his wife, Tracie Ty Burns Becky Owens & her husband, Daniel Greg Robbins & his wife, Jun Jonathan Robbins & his wife, Keli Karri Botts & her husband, Danny Kynna Smith Tray Denney 16 Great Grandchildren Plus a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Dora Denney, and four sisters, Agnes Box, Erby Fowler, Opal Gemmell, and Margurette Shideler. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Masham Baptist Church, Masham, Oklahoma with Rev. Virgle Calvert and Rev. Eddie James officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Masham Baptist Church, 344950 E. 3900 Road, Pawnee, Oklahoma, 74058, or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer and Brain Disease, 825 NE 13th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73104.
