Merle L. Hurst

On the morning of September 12, 2015, Merle passed away peacefully of natural causes.  Merle was being visited and comforted by family members at the Inter Community Medical Center in Covina , California .  At the time of his passing Merle was 76 years old.Merle was preceeded in death by father-Eddie Reece, mother-Lena Roubideaux, brother- Robert McIntosh, daughters- Ramona Hurst and Merle Laverne Hurst, grandson-Brian Scott Hurst.Merle is survived by wife-Anna, sons-Brian, Rodney, Darin, daughter-Diesta. And grandchildren- Tasha, Willie, Justin, Maegan, Tyler, Joseph, Rodney Jr., Jeremy, Daniela. And numerous lovely great-grand children. Also nieces and nephews.Merle is being laid to rest by his Marine military brothers.Merle was born in Red Rock, Oklahoma on April 29, 1939. His was the oldest of the two sons of Lena Roubideaux.Merle loved his job as a trucker, but his main passion was coming home to his family, and attending ball tournaments.  He enjoyed cooking and listening to R & B musicHe was a hero and a good friend to many and will be missed, may he R.I.P.Body will lie in state at the Otoe-Missouria Cultural Building . Services will be Wednesday evening with the traditional feast on Thursday. Interment will be Thursday at 2 pm in the Otoe-Missouria Cemetery
