Mary Jewel Pointer Mary Jewel Pointer, 82, a lifelong resident of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at her home in Hominy. Mary Jewel was born in Hominy, Oklahoma to Charles and Eva Lillian (Smith) Goldsberry on April 05, 1932. She married Benjamin Franklin Pointer. She owned a Thrift Store in Hominy in the 1990s. She is survived by: her grandson, Bill Chowing and wife, Sheila, of Chandler, OK; her granddaughter, Julie Wilson and husband, Kevin, of Cordell, OK; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Pointer of Hominy, OK; her sister, Ruth Parish of Las Vegas, NV and numerous nieces & nephews. Mary Jewel is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, who passed away on May 5, 2000 and her son, Roger. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at A.J. Powell Cemetery. Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home in Hominy, Oklahoma. Online memorials may be left at powellfuneralservice.com.
