Mary Carolyn Frazier

Mary Carolyn (Metcalf) Frazier of Hominy, OK, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014. Born on October 9, 1933, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Lafe E. and Mary Francis (Greenawalt) Metcalf and was raised in Bartlesville, OK. One of two daughters, Carolyn graduated from Bartlesville High School and Oklahoma A&M. After graduation, she was employed at Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville. It was here that she met her husband, James C. Frazier, on a fateful "blind date" in late 1954. The two married in April of 1955. The couple settled in Hominy where James began working with his father's business along with his brothers. James and Carolyn joined the First Presbyterian Church in Hominy which was their church home. Carolyn was an elder with the church. She was also active in the local P.E.O. chapter where she served in various positions over the years. Carolyn loved spending time with family and friends. Known also as "Meme," she enjoyed cooking, embroidery and was well known for her home-made pies. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, and sister Marjorie (Carter). She is survived by her six children: Dr. Curt (and Jana) Frazier of Fair Grove, MO; Cim (and Mike) Fowler of Skiatook, OK; Chrissie (and Cha) Fairweather of Hominy, OK; Cathey (and Mike) Major of Edmond, OK; Clyde Frazier of Tulsa, OK; and Craig Frazier of Chicago, IL; her twenty-eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church of Hominy.
