Marguerite Helen (Shaw) Smith Obituary Marguerite Helen (Shaw) Smith, 89 of Ramona, Oklahoma passed away August 18, 2010 peacefully at her home surrounded by family. Marguerite was born in Wynona, Oklahoma, on December 10, 1920 to Joseph Arnold and Della Mae (Adkins) Shaw. Marguerite was raised in Hominy, Oklahoma, and graduated from Hominy High School. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree at Oklahoma A&M. She married Dr. Earl E. Smith June 24, 1944. Together they took care of their ranch for 30 years. She had attended the United Methodist Church in Hominy and the New Haven United Methodist Church in Tulsa. She is survived by her son- Dr. Earl E. Smith III and his wife Patsy; three daughters- Karen Lynn Carlson and husband Alan, Rene Catli and husband Craig, and Kipa Smith; grandsons- Eric and Kevin Carlson, Travis, Ryan and Ty Smith; granddaughters- Erin Hillenberg, Stacey Hollopeter, Lauren Johnson and Allegra Smith; two great grandsons- Tyler Hollopeter and Landon Hillenberg and great granddaughter Aubrey Hillenberg. She was preceded in death by her husband- Dr. Earl E. Smith, mother- Della Mae (Adkins) Shaw, and her father- Joseph Arnold Shaw, her sister- Mildred Lucille (Shaw) Ross, and a great granddaughter- Emma Rene Hollopeter. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and friend. Services were held Monday, August 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Mingus officiating. Music selections were How Great Thou Art , The Old Rugged Cross , In the Garden , Amazing Grace , and The Lords Prayer . Casket bearers were Dr. Earl Smith, Alan Carlson, Eric Carlson, Kevin Carlson, Craig Catli, Ryan Smith, Ty Smith and Travis Smith. Interment was in the A. J. Powell Cemetery under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma. Donations may be made in her name to Mutual Girls Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma or the SPCA in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
