Lucille Thornburg Obituary Lucille Thornburg, 87 longtime Pawhuska resident passed away July 30, 2009 at the Barnsdall Nursing Home. She was born May 28, 1922 West of Pawhuska to James and Nancy Jane (Torx) Jones. Lucille married Sam Isac Thornburg on December 1940, to this union 5 children were born, Sam passed away June 28, 2002. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pawhuska. Lucille worked for 11 years at the Courthouse in the Assessors office before retiring. She spent most of her time with her family, and grandchildren. She is survived by her 4 sons- Bill Thornburg of Broken Arrow, Bob Thornburg of Pawhuska, Chris Thornburg of Broken Arrow, and Joe Thornburg of Pawhuska, and a daughter- Jayne Minney of Pawhuska. 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 granddaughters, Nora Yates Thornburg and Edith Anderson. Services for Lucille will be Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pawhuska, officiated by Father Chris Daigle. Casket bearers for the service will be Bill Thornburg, Joe Thornburg, Chris Thornburg, Stephen Thornburg, Adam Thornburg, Bill Strandgard and Jason Anderson. Burial will be at the Pawhuska City Cemetery. Powell Funeral Home was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
