Linda Lee Allison

Linda Lee Allison passed from this life on January 20, 2023, at the age of 84, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Linda was born on February 15, 1938, in Cushing, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of James Paul Lomax and Alene Fern Lomax (Smith). Linda grew up and attended grade school through junior high in Midland, TX, Odessa, TX, and Great Bend, Kansas. Linda continued her education at Tulsa University, where she studied Journalism. Growing up, Linda was a barrel racer and the 1955/1956 Cavalcade Queen winner, the world's largest amateur rodeo. In addition, Linda worked as a model and even stunt doubled for a few western movies. Linda and her husband, jockey Donald Grant Allison, were united in marriage on September 6, 1961. Together they had a Racehorse Training business and were Racehorse Owners, making Linda one of the first women to emerge in the racehorse industry and receive a trainers license. Linda also worked for Channel 6, Tulsa World, & Fair Meadows Racetrack. Linda loved the outdoors and always had a connection with animals; they seemed to find her everywhere. She never met a stray she didn't give a home to. Linda was an avid reader; her book collection has well over a thousand books.

Linda is survived by her spouse, Donald Allison, two sons, Don Paul and Darren Lee Allison, and three grandchildren, Sydnee, Joshua, & Zachary Allison. Linda was preceded in death by parents JP and Alene Lomax and brother Paul Jr. Lomax.
