Leo Howard Stanton Obituary Leo Howard Stanton, age 78 of Wynona, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in St. Louis, Missouri at the Barnes Hospital. Leo was born December 22, 1933 to Leo F. and Gladys L. (Brock) Stanton at Westfork, Arkansas. He married Joni Grezlik in 1986. He was a life-long resident of Wynona. Leo attended Wynona Public School and served in the U. S. Army National Guard. Leo was an Independent Oil Producer for 46 years; before becoming self employed he worked as an inspector for pipelines; a welder and belonged to the Pipeliner Union 798. Leo worked hard and found it satisfying; he also enjoyed welding. In his younger years he was an avid bird hunter and fisherman; he had a hobby of making fishing lures. Leo had served on the Wynona School Board. He enjoyed trading and watching the stocks and bonds market. Leo was an avid dog lover and was an OKC Thunder fan. Leo is survived by his wife Joni of the home; three children: Bobby Stanton and wife Paula of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, Debra Evans of Coweta, Oklahoma and Derek Stanton and fiancé` Christi Michael of Wynona, Oklahoma. Two grandchildren: Andrea Roach and Blaine Evans; two great grandchildren: Shaylee Roach and Collin Lane. He was preceded in death by parents and grandson Clint Stanton. Graveside Memorial Service will be at the A.J. Powell Cemetery Pavilion Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ray Collins officiating. Taped music will be "Against the Wind" and Anne Murray, "Softly and Tenderly". Interment will be in the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with Powell Funeral Home making the arrangements.
