Josephine Nell "JoNell" Pratt Buck Obituary Josephine Nell "JoNell" Pratt Buck went to be with the Lord Friday, February 6, 2015, 3:10 p.m. at the age of 48. She died peacefully at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Oklahoma with her husband George Buck and brother, Otto Eugene Hamilton at her side. She was a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma for many years. She was born March 20, 1966 at Pawnee Indian Hospital, Pawnee, Oklahoma, to Michael Sylvester and Eunice Cordelia (Burnett) Pratt. Both parents preceded her in death. Josephine was of American Indian descent of the Iowa, Osage, Pottawattomie, Shawnee, and Sac-n-Fox tribes. She resided at Huntington Beach, California and she also attended Riverside and Sequoyah Indian Schools before returning to live in Hominy, Oklahoma. Josephine and George were married January 18, 2003 at Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were given a beloved son, Frederick Eli Tecumseh Buck. Josephine had a love for life and her many enjoyments were attending her traditional Osage Indian Ceremonial dances as the Iowa Pow Wow and other Tribal Pow Wows across the state. She and George loved to travel and in particular they enjoyed trips to Colorado. She also enjoyed attending her Pah-Sue-Lee organization's monthly meeting, shopping, playing cards, bingo, going to casinos, having jewelry and home décor parties; and visiting with family and friends. Survivors include her husband George; brothers: Otto Eugene Hamilton of Tulsa, OK and Cameron Pratt and wife Nicole of Pawhuska, OK; mother-in-law Virginia Guahava of Oaks, OK; sister-in-laws: Lisa Ahmed of Washington; Melissa Buck of Kenwood, Ok and Teresa Buck of Oaks, OK; and brother-in-law Henry James Buck, Jr.; step-sister Susie Hamilton of Skiatook, OK. Paternal aunts: Judy Maker of Colorado Springs, CO and Sally Jefferson of Katy, TX; material uncles: Dave Hutchens and wife Gayle of Fairfax, OK and a special uncle, Louis Burnett and wife Pam. Nephews: Jimmy Austin Hamilton of Hominy, OK, Ryan Pratt of Yale, OK, Henry Pratt of Pawhuska, OK; nieces: Marissa Pratt and McKayla Pratt of Pawhuska, OK; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death includes son Frederick, parents, father-in-law Henry James Buck; paternal grandparents: George and Vina Pratt, Sr.; maternal grandparents: Bennie and Helen Burnett; a niece Casie Dawn Hamilton; uncles: Ben Joseph Burnett, Harold Edward Burnett, Jerome Barnes, and George Pratt, Jr; and aunts: Norma Jean Burnett, Dorothy Pratt, Henryetta Pratt, and Ruthie Pratt. Josephine will lie-in-state at the Hominy Indian Village Chapel. Josephine's funeral services will be Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at the Steeley Baptist Church, Kenwood, Oklahoma with Andrew Gray, Indian Church Pastor officiating. Soloist will be Layne Petty. Pall Bearers were Jerry Don Petty, Galin Michael Eugene Petty, Joseph Burnett, Loren Burnett McKinley Burnett, David Madden, Drew Dreadfulwater III and Damon Hamilton and honorary Ryan Pratt. Burial will be in the Steeley Baptist Church Cemetery, Kenwood, OK, under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma. (Kenwood is East of Salina). www.funeralhomeservice.com. There was a Rosary Monday, February 9, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at the Hominy Village Chapel, led by William Fletcher.
