John (Bill) Willy Mercer Obituary John (Bill) Willy Mercer, age 81 of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away at his residence on December 25, 2009. Bill was born on November 8, 1928 to John Willy and Mertha (Carlton) Mercer in Hominy, Oklahoma. Bill married Verniemae Audrey Hull on June 22, 1967. He was a life-long resident of Hominy. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Lamamco Drilling Company where he worked on drilling rigs and built insert pumps. Bill is survived by his wife Verniemae- one son- Mike Mercer and wife Joanna of Pawhuska, Oklahoma; two daughters- Dana White and husband Jack of Mannford, Oklahoma and Karen Ratliff and husband Charlie of Wynona, Oklahoma; six grandchildren- Matthew Dilley, C.J. Ratliff, Michael Mercer, Caroline Mercer, Lacey Dilley, Bethany Dilley; and three great grandchildren- Kambree Ratliff, Carissa Dilley and Eli Mercer. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers- R.D., Floyd and Joel. Memorial Services were Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Wynona, Oklahoma with Rev. Wayne Brown officiating. Music selections were Masters Bouquet and Amazing Grace . Arrangements were made with Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma.
