Jerry Tucker, Jr. was born on May 9, 1927 at his parent’s farm house south of Skedee, Oklahoma to Jerry A. Tucker and Iva Wells Tucker He passed from this life on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the age of 85 years, 5 months, and 15 days. He attended Skedee High School and graduated with the Class of 1945. He would frequently speak of his basketball team and how his team beat some of the big schools. Jerry met the love of his life while in high school, and married Emma Marrs on February 22, 1947 in Winfield Kansas. He would often say he married the prettiest girl anywhere. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Jerry accepted Jesus as his Savior and was baptized as a member of the Blackburn First Baptist Church. Jerry and Emma attended Skedee Methodist Church for many years where they both loved all those who attended and Pastor Susan Ross. He was a successful, lifelong farmer and rancher, and was proud to work the soil and always would do his best to have a good crop. His final crops are in and he left his land to rest in Heaven’s green pastures. Of all of his accomplishments, his greatest and the one he was most proud of, and felt very blessed to have had, was his family. He loved having his family in his home, and he loved to see and hear about his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid Oklahoma Women’s Basketball fan. Jerry is survived by: Wife:Emma Tucker, Pawnee, Oklahoma 3 Sons:V. E. “Eddie” Tucker & his wife, Lee Anna, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Steven Tucker & his wife, Rebecca, Edmond, Oklahoma Gary Tucker Sr. & his wife, Angela, Cleveland, Oklahoma 8 Grandchildren 22 Great Grandchildren Sister:Erma Dean Young & her husband, Dale, Wimberly, Texas Brother:Herman Tucker & his wife, Margaret, Arlington, Teas Plus a number of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Iva Tucker, and his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Vilas and Opal Tucker, Alvin and Juanda Tucker, Marvin and Etta Jo Tucker, Viola and Joe Perrine, Goldie and Elmer Hendrix, Velma and Rudy Alejo, and Rosa Lee and Charles Conarro. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Poteet Funeral Chapel, Pawnee, Oklahoma with Rev. Susan Ross and Rev. Mike Brock officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
