Ray Collins Obituary Ray Collins passed away peacefully on December 26, 2014, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 70. Ray is survived by his wife, Judith Bruno Collins of Hominy; his son and wife, Corbin and Diana Collins of Coweta; his daughter and husband, Jera and Scott Tyler of Skiatook. His older brother, Melvin Collins of Cleveland and his family, and his younger brother, Mike Collins of Hominy and his family. His 3 grandchildren, Taylor Collins, Cayden Collins, and Trenton Tyler. Ray was preceded in death by his father, Milford Russell Collins; his mother, Cordelia Mae Collins; his son, John Russell Collins. His older brother, James Collins; and his sister, Judy Collins. Ray was born March 10, 1944 in Wagoner, Oklahoma, to Milford Russell and Cordelia Mae (Garrison) Collins. He graduated from Wynona Public Schools. Outside of high school, Ray served in the U.S. Army National Guard, Division 45. Ray married Judith Gail Bruno May 10, 1967. They had 3 children: Corbin, John Russell and Jera. Ray began in the car business in 1971, and he was always buying and selling vehicles. He opened Collins Motor Company in 2003, which was a dream come true for him. He also was an ordained minister who pastored for about 12 years. He loved God and was passionate about ministering to others. Ray was a dedicated member of the Guts Church both in Tulsa and Skiatook. Ray loved life and family, but overall he just loved people. He was a dedicated husband, a great dad and grandfather; also, he was a good friend to many. He rarely met a stranger, which confirms his outgoing and loving personality. Ray was known for his smile, dancing, and generosity. He was a good "Poppy" to his grand kids. Oklahoma football was high on his list of favorite pastimes. Also, he enjoyed eating out with his family, taking naps, working in the yard, and traveling. Ray was loved by so many and will be missed greatly. Memorial Service for Ray was Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Hominy, First Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Scheer, Pastor George Moss and Pastor Mark Bearden officiating. Music selections were: "Oceans" sang by Diana Collins, accompanied by Sarah Tucker and "One Thing Remains" by Sarah Tucker. Pall Bearers were Scott Tyler, Cayden Collins, Kevin Lyons, Matt Bearden, Zaven Collins, Adrian Collins and honorary pallbearer Trenton Tyler. Interment was in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery under the directions of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma.
