Jerry Lowell Jackson

Jerry Lowell Jackson, age 78, of Hominy, OK passed from this life on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in Tulsa. He was born June 20, 1943, in Simpson, Illinois to John and Wilma (Langford) Jackson. He was raised and educated there, then joined the Air Force in 1961. Following his honorable discharge, he was employed by General Dynamics in Dallas, Texas. He was united to Mary Brown in 1968. In 1995, Jerry was united in marriage to Billie Jean (Stallcup) Rushton.

Jerry came to Hominy from Dallas Texas in 1969 when he went to work for Ceja Corporation. He retired from Ceja in 2009 as an exploration supervisor. Jerry was a man of many talents and could fix most anything, even building from scratch a 1902 Oldsmobile. He also enjoyed riding his gold wing motorcycle, flying his ultra-lite airplane and his 1946 Ercoupe. Other past-times included he and Billie going to flea markets and to Gas-Engine shows. Jerry was also a longtime member of the Hominy Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Blackwell-Frazier American Legion Post 142.

Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his wife, Billie; daughter Jamie Bowman and husband Bo of Cleveland, one stepson Scott Garl of Springfield, MO; three grandchildren Dakota Potts, Saige Bowman and Hunter Koyn; one great granddaughter Adalynn Koyn; three brothers and several nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, a half brother Herb Nance and stepdaughter Robin Belcher.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 10:30 am in the sanctuary of the Hominy Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Carl Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Vance Air Force Base Honor Team. There will be a public time of visitation for Jerry on Monday, June 20th from 3pm – 7pm at the Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, OK. For those who wish, the family has requested In lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the: Blackwell-Frazier American Legion Post 142 – Flag Fund; Attn: Babo Carter; 118 South Wood Ave, Hominy, OK 74035.
