James Uless Martin Jr.

     James Uless (Jim) Martin, Jr of Wynona, OK passed from this life on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville.  He was 61 years of age.

     Jim was born August 19, 1959 at Hominy, OK to James Uless and Mary Helen (Cobb) Martin.  He was raised on the family farm, and received his education in the Wynona school system, graduating with the class of 1977.  Following high school, he and some friends went to work on the railroad.  He later attended welding school and found employment in the oil fields, eventually owning his own business.  He and Chuck Spurgeon formed Spartan Well Service.  Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and going on cruises that he and Debra would take.

     Those that survive and hold many cherished memories include his mother – Mary Helen Martin of Wynona; his life partner – Debra Reeves of the home; sisters – Jeanne and husband Jim Votaw of Perry, OK, Karen and husband Don Betchan of Perry, OK and Stephanie and husband Phil Glasgow of McKinney, TX.  Also surviving are a daughter Lindsey Rikard and husband Robbie of Wynona; grandchildren – Drake and wife Deasha of Wynona, OK, Dylan and Desiree, as well a great grandchild Blair; and six nieces and nephews – Darby Colen, Matthew Votaw, Angie Beckham, Justin Betchan, James Glasgow and Katie Glasgow.  He was preceded in death by his father.

     Visitation for Jim will be Tuesday, June 15 from 10am to 7pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Hominy.  Graveside services will be Wednesday June 16^th at 10:00 am at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy with Pastor Rick Eutsler of the Wynona Baptist Church officiating.  Arrangements and services were entrusted to the Powell Funeral Home of Hominy.
