Jack Dempsy Dobbins, Sr

Jack Dempsey Dobbins, Sr., 94 years, passed away on Monday, April 02, 2018 at the Wildwood Care Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a life-long Hominy area resident.

Jack was born August 18, 1923 in Turkey Ford, Oklahoma to William Franklin, Sr. and May Elizabeth (Turner) Dobbins. He worked for the City of Hominy and Osage County as a truck driver and also worked as a roustabout in the oilfields. On December 03, 1947, Jack married Flora M. Big Eagle, who sadly passed away on April 6, 2004.

Jack is survived by: his granddaughter, Katherine Carns of Tulsa, OK and her companion, Chris Vulgamore.

Jack is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Flora; 2 sons: Jack Dobbins, Jr. and Riley Dobbins; his daughter, Sarah Carns; 7 siblings: William Dobbins, Jr., Frederick Dobbins, Nellie Gourd, May Dobbins, Curt Dobbins, Flossie Yelton and Vernis Frederick .

Funeral Services were 10:00 AM, Friday, April 6, 2018, at the Friends Church, in Hominy, Oklahoma, with Pastor David Nagle officiating. Burial at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy followed services. Pallbearers were: Jim Hopper, Jerome Barnes, III, Jess Hopper, Larry Maker, Chigger Bost, and Sam Mitts. Musical selections were: "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art."
