Ida Marie Bevenue, 59 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a long time Hominy and Tulsa resident.
Ida was born in Claremore, Oklahoma to John, Jr. and Georgia (Kipp) Jake on August 21, 1956 and is Osage, Pawnee and Blackfoot descent. She worked and retired from the Osage Nation Head Start and was a member of the Hominy Friends Church.
Ida enjoyed going to the movies and eating at restaurants with her family. She liked playing at the casinos and watching her TV shows. (Her favorite was The Walking Dead) But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Ida is survived by: 3 children: Judy St. John of Muskogee, OK, Mary Lee and her husband, Robert, and Joshua Bevenue, both of Hominy, OK; 6 grandchildren: Alex DeRoin, Lilliana St. John, Joseph St. John, Daniel St. John, Miranda Parra-St. John and Mikah Lee; and 2 sisters: Mary Jake and Susie Emarthle.
Ida is preceded in death by: her parents and 5 siblings: Holly Jake, Judy Jake, Darryl Kipp, George Jake and Josephine Jake.
The funeral service was held at 9:00 AM, Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Hominy Osage Village Chapel in Hominy Oklahoma, with the Pastor David Nagle, Alan Moore and Everett Waller officiating. Pallbearers were: Chris Jake, Shawn Jake, Orion Bush, Darryl Kipp, John Horsechief and Stuart Moore. Burial followed the services at A J Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy.
