Hattie Marie Brownwolf Gilkey

Hattie Marie Brownwolf Gilkey, 50 years, of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at her home in Pawhuska.

Hattie is a tribal member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and was born on April 18, 1967 to LeRoy Albert and Dorothy Mae (Stover) Brownwolf on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, though she was mostly raised in Pawhuska.

Hattie lived in Dewey and Bartlesville, Oklahoma before moving back to Pawhuska. She worked for Phillips 66 as a cleaning crew supervisor and later for the YMCA. Hattie really enjoyed fishing in her leisure time and loved to be able to help people.

Hattie is survived by: her only child, daughter, Whitney Walker; Whitney's father, Jimmy Dean Andrews; her mother, Dorothy American Horse; and her many siblings: Johnny, Roxanne, Kathy, Rollene, Kevin, Russell, Jada, LeRae, Clint, Melvin, Charley, Tina, Michael, Ray, Robert, Shonna, Clyde, Garrett, Jennifer, Jordan, Shara, Franky, Joshua, Shmeeka, Shaneka, Robby, Christy, Michelle, Olivia, Ki and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Hattie is preceded in death by: her father, LeRoy A. Brownwolf and her sister, Charlotte Kay Brownwolf.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Hominy, Oklahoma with Travis Finley officiating.
