Harvey Dwayne Taylor

August 10, 1941 — September 2, 2021

Harvey Dwayne Taylor

Harvey Dwayne Taylor passed from this life to his heavenly home on September 2, 2021.

Harvey was born August 10, 1941 to Shedrick Earl and Jewell Mildred (Atteberry) Taylor in a log
cabin in Nashoba, OK. The family later moved to Pawhuska, OK where Harvey spent his school
years graduating in 1959. Harvey was a hard worker even as a young boy helping his father
build fence on Chamberlain Ranch.

Harvey married Charlotte Merrill and they continued their education at Draughons Business
School and remained in Tulsa until they moved to Bixby, OK with their two daughters.

Harvey began in the grocery store as a sacker at Sipes and continued to be promoted until he
accepted a management position at Wells in Pawhuska, OK moving his family to Wynona, OK.
He left the grocery business to drive the Frito Lay truck, tried his hand at selling insurance then
spent the rest of his working years in the oilfield as a hand and then a pumper. Harvey met
many people over the span of his career and made many friends.

He loved to go fishing and spend time watching his grandchildren in their activities. You never
had to ask where he wanted to eat out because we knew it was Cracker Barrel and when you
went somewhere else, he found the steaks on the menu because he was always down for a
good steak.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Faye Young and Helen Kendrix.

Harvey is survived by his daughters Debra Hurd (Russell) of Claremore, Regina Cotton (Bryan) of
Hominy, brother Gary Taylor (Ann) of Sapulpa, 7 Grandchildren, Amanda, Adrial, Rachelle,
Roxanne, Sheach, James and Nathaniel and 13 Great Grandchildren.

Harvey loved the Lord and was always giving thanks at his meals and often mentioned he felt
truly blessed by the children and grandchildren the Lord had given him. Family and friends
have cherished memories and so many have reached out that he was such a kind man and will
be missed.
