Harry Arthur Mitchell, Jr.

Harry Arthur Mitchell, Jr., 54 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at his residence in Hominy.

Harry was born in Winfield, Kansas on September 16, 1964 to Harry Arthur and Donna (Ford) Mitchell, Sr. He was raised in Douglas, Kansas; where he learned the cattle business at an early age. After completing high school, he began working in the oilfield and completed certification as a mechanic. Harry married Rita Kaye Spurgeon on May 8, 1992 in Arkansas, and they moved to Hominy in 1992, where he used his skills to enter the oilfields of Oklahoma and began ranching again.

Harry was always determined to overcome obstacles and always watched out for others. He was happiest while being with family, friends or with his animals. Harry loved his nieces and nephews dearly and he will be very much missed.

Harry is survived by: his wife: Rita Mitchell of the home; 2 brothers: Tom McKibban and his wife, Cathy, Bill McKibban and his wife, Beverly; his sister: Beverly Sue Steele; his aunt: Marilyn Ford; 9 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews.

Harry is preceded in death by: his parents, Harry and Donna Mitchell, Sr.; and his uncle, James Ford.

The memorial services are private family services.
