Gladys Bell Watts, 95 years, long time resident of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away at her home in Hominy on Sunday, January 21, 2018.

Gladys was born north of Hominy at her family home, in the oil camp of the "Section 8" lease to John Henry and Nancy Ann (Sexton) Grier. Gladys attended school in Hominy and she then married James Martin Watts on August 9, 1938 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. They spent most of their married life in Hominy and were married 69 years when James passed away on August 10, 2007. Gladys loved to cook and enjoyed painting - cabinets, woodwork and walls. She took great pride in her home and caring for her family.

Gladys is survived by: 3 children: Jack Watts and his wife, Shirley, of Pawhuska, OK, Ruth Watts of Hominy, OK, Linda Pope and her husband, Monte, of Anchorage, AK; 4 grandchildren: Angela Hayes, Joslin McLaughlin, Anita Hill and her husband, Jeremy, Nikki Roepke and her husband, Patrick; 2 great-grandchildren: Evan McLaughlin, Jaiden Combs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gladys is preceded by her parents, her husband, her daughter; Brenda Kay Jones, who passed away on June 28, 2014; 2 brothers: George and Ben Grier; and 3 sisters: Mae Stokes, Myrtle Rushing, and Dora Chambers.

The funeral service will be 1 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the Church of the Nazarene in Hominy with the Pastor Carl Brown officiating. Pallbearers are: Joslin McLaughlin, Evan McLaughlin, Jeremy Hill and Patrick Roepke. Musical selections are: "Church in the Wildwood", "I'll Fly Away" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". Burial will follow services at the Osage Cemetery in Osage, Oklahoma.
