Elmer Lee Pitts, 97 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma, Passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his residence in Hominy.

Elmer was born in Ralston, Oklahoma on July 24, 1920 to Claud and Deloma (Forbes) Pitts. He married Beulah Pearl Stephens on August 12, 1942; sadly she passed away on May 14, 1994. Elmer was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Hominy. Elmer loved to hunt quail and pheasants with his sons and son-in-laws. He was an expert with the bean flip. He could hit just about anything with it. Elmer was very witty and extremely funny and he was really good at math and could do figures in his head effortlessly.

Elmer is survived by special friend, Shirley Couffer of Hominy, five children, Shirley Cox of Moore, OK, Barbara and husband Dewey Cox, of Hominy, Kenny and wife JoAnn Pitts of Hominy, Paula and husband Bob Lindblom of Bartlesville, OK, Steve and Mary Pitts, of Hominy, 10 grandchildren, Corey Cox of Houston, TX, Nikki Williams of Gould, OK, Gary Cox, of Hominy, Chris Cox of Hominy, Charla Frank of Calera, OK, Leah Linthicum of Skiatook, OK, J.D. Pitts of Lawrenceberg, Tennessee, Jon Lindblom, Josh Lindblom, and Amanda Brammer, all of Bartlesville, OK, Brady Pitts of Hominy, also 21 great grandchildren.

Elmer is preceded by: his wife, Beulah; his parents, Claud and Deloma; one son, Jim Pitts; his brothers and sisters: Lloyd Pitts, Evelyn Roberts, Geraldine Stanbrough, Leonard Pitts, JoAnn Porter and Glenn Pitts.

The funeral service was 10:00 AM, Friday, December 29, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Hominy with the Pastor Mark Formby officiating. The pallbearers were Elmer's grandsons: Gary Cox, Chris Cox, Corey Cox, Jon Lindblom, Josh Lindblom and Brady Pitts. Musical selections were: "Amazing Grace", "Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Garden" Elmer's granddaughter, Amanda Brammer sang: "You're a Good, Good Father" and his granddaughter Nikki Williams, signed the words to: "How Great Thou Art". Burial followed services at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery.
