Dorothy Marie Romine Dorothy Marie Romine, age 68, a resident of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on June 9, 2014 at her home. "Mommy" was a "coal miners' daughter" and proud of it! She was raised in the hills of Bud, West Virginia. She came from a large loving family of 12 children. Even though miles separated them - she often talked of them and even at the end she reminded us that we need to haul water up the hill. She was a kind but strong lady. She was a cook and owned several cafes in Oklahoma. She loved to sit & visit - drinking her coffee. She loved to shop (as long as there were coffee breaks) and take weekend trips. She was a loving Mother who would give her last dollar to help any of her kids. She loved taking care of babies and made each and every child & grandchild feel special. She was blessed to have a loyal, loving husband (Jack Romine) for 17 years. He was "her" knight in shining armor right up to the end. He never left her side. Her children came together to show her our love with foot & back rubs, hand holding, loving words and gazes. We were all left with a treasure of wonderful memories of our times together. Thank you God, for giving us this lovely lady. We are honored to call her - "Our Mommy". Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents: William Harrison and Opal Ruby (McKinney) Bishop; her daughter, Michelle Lynn Romine; her brothers: Lee Bishop and Monty Bishop; and her sister, Lindy Reed. She is survived by her husband, Jack Romine; 3 daughters: Ruby Elkins, Mary Susan Bears and husband Mark, Jacqueline Broam and husband George; 2 sons: Ned Mills, Jr. and his companion, Connie Borgstrom, and James A. Romine; 17 Grandchildren; 25 Great-Grandchildren; her siblings: Betty Mills, Lola McKinney, Nancy Pendry, Wayne Bishop, Velma Whitt, Judy Lambert, Kathy Dunn and Mary Ellen Mullins. Memorial Services will be at Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Hominy on June 28, 2014 at 11:00 am. Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home in Hominy, Oklahoma. www.powellfuneralservice.com
