Cris Clint Hough, 58, of Hominy, Oklahoma, died the morning of October 21, 2017 in his home. Memorial services were held October 28th, at the First Baptist Church of Hominy, OK. Cris was born January 28, 1959 in Bartlesville, OK, to his parents, Bob and Louella Hough, and five siblings. Cris attended and graduated from Wynona High School. He worked many years in the oilfield and then later transitioned to trucking. He married Michele Johnson of Wynona in 1981.

Cris was preceded in death by his infant sister, Virginia. Survivors include: his spouse of 36 years, Michele; sons Dustin Hough and wife Kim of Hominy, OK; Christopher Hough and wife Amy of Topeka, KS; and Jacob Hough of Hominy, OK; Parents Bob and Louella Hough of Hominy, OK; sisters Ruth Hope and husband Louis of Gene Autry, OK; and Nina Turner and husband Ron of Sequim, WA; brothers Robert Hough and wife Terry of Apex, NC; Travis Hough and wife Freda of Billings, OK; Alan Hough and wife Karen of Wynona, OK; four beautiful grandchildren, Harley Ann, Cristian Jared, Tenley Renae, and Trent Ryan; numerous beloved aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cris was a devoted family man, one who freely sacrificed for his wife, children and extended family, often thinking of other people's needs before his own. He knew how to love and how to forgive. He was a man of few words, rarely criticizing. He openly demonstrated love, kindness, and empathy to friends, family and those he met.

Cris was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, September 7, 2010. Glioblastoma carries with it a poor prognosis, with most people surviving less than a year. His doctor's advice was to "Go and live life". Cris had many surgeries, treatments, and procedures over the next seven years. Time with friends and family became even more valuable. He followed his doctor's instruction and truly "lived life". He was always up for anything, whether it was trying a new food, going fishing, or going on an adventure. Even in times when he was physically limited, he never held anyone back. He just enjoyed the ride. In Cris' remaining years, he visited many places including: almost 30 national parks, Alaska, many national monuments and Washington DC. He also welcomed three new grandchildren into the family, enjoying their milestones and celebrating each precious moment.

Cancer, the thief that it is, stole pieces of Cris over time. Each loss was grieved, while at the same time, the life remaining celebrated. Even though his last months were difficult, he often graced family, friends and caregivers with his beautiful laugh or a tender embrace. He will be missed by many. About one week before Cris died, his five-year-old Grandson, Crisitan Hough professed, "You know Papa is the best man I have ever known." No man could have a better testament of a life well lived.
