Carla Kay McKenzie Obituary Carla Kay McKenzie, age 64, of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away Monday, October 27, 2014 at her residence. Carla was born November 1, 1949 to Leo and Loeta (Brown) Allison at Wewoka, Oklahoma. Carla married Bill McKenzie August 25, 1969 in Hominy, Oklahoma; Bill preceded her in death September 3, 2003. Carla was a life-long area resident. She graduated from Hominy Public Schools, she has a Bachelor's Degree from Central State University where she studied theatre and education. She taught High School English, speech and debate at Pawhuska, Oklahoma, she also taught 5 years in Bartlesville as well as directing many student and community plays. Carla was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hominy. Carla is survived by a son: Max McKenzie and wife Casey of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a daughter: Allison Cass of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren: Christian Cass, Caitlyn Cass, William McKenzie and Gunner McKenzie; a brother: Carl Allison and wife Sandy of Hominy, and mother-in-law: Lu McKenzie of Hominy. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, father-in-law: Max McKenzie. Carla's funeral services will be Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Hominy with Rev. David Mingus officiating. Pall bearers will be Michael McKenzie, Matthew McKenzie and Marcus McKenzie. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery, 2nd Addition, Pawnee, Oklahoma under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma. Online memorials may be left at powellfuneralservice.com. In lieu of flowers give to The Gladney Center, Ft. Worth, Texas or American Cancer Society.
