Bonnie Yevonne Johnson

Bonnie YeVonne Johnson, 77 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Bonnie was a long time Hominy resident.

Bonnie was born in Russell, Kansas on July 13, 1939 to Theodore Roosevelt and Wanda B. (Deadmond) Deatherage. She attended and graduated from Big Cabin High School in Big Cabin, Oklahoma and then moved to Hominy when she was 18 years old. Bonnie married Andy Johnson in 1962 and they were married 39 years. Bonnie worked at Munsingwear in Hominy for 20 years.

Bonnie loved her horses and could really handle the wild ones. She belonged to the Roundup Club and once was the Queen. She participated in the Cavalcade and other rodeos, sometimes barrel racing and rode in many parades with her mother. Bonnie had a beautiful attitude, always smiling and just loved to tease her husband. She will be greatly missed.

Bonnie is survived by: her brother, Kyle Deatherage of Stillwater, OK.
Bonnie is preceded in death by: her husband, her parents, her sister, Betty Blankenship and her brother, Teddy D. Deatherage.

The funeral service was 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Stumpff officiating. Burial at the A. J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy followed services.
