Betty Kuffel

Betty Evelyn Kramer Gambill Kuffel a very special Aunt passed from this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in Stillwater Oklahoma having reached the age of 82 years, 9 months, and 17 days. She was born on October 12, 1931 in Maramec, Oklahoma to Herbert Kramer and Maudie Allen Kramer. Evelyn attended and graduated from Maramec School with the Class of 1949. She worked as a nurse for Dr. P. R. Riemer, and later attended a Business/Secretarial College in Tulsa Oklahoma. On December 19, 1952 she became the wife of Billy Earl Gambill, living most of their married life in Stillwater. Upon retirement from Frontier Printers in Stillwater Oklahoma they moved back to Evelyn’s family farm in Maramec where they enjoyed fishing, wildlife, and the outdoors until his death in 1989. Some of our fondest memories are the special birthday cakes that she made when her niece and nephew were younger, and all the work and research she did to have the Family Farm recognized as a 100-year Centennial Farm having received that honor in 1996. In 1996 she wed Cy Kuffel, making their home in Stillwater. The pair enjoyed traveling until illness forced them to stop. He preceded her in death in 2010. Again she moved back to the family farm where she enjoyed life with her family and small community, attending Maramec United Methodist Church, and the Senior Citizen Center. Betty is survived by her niece, Eugenia Fulton, nephew, Allen Fulton and his wife, Debbie, and great nephew Paden Fulton all of Maramec, Oklahoma, plus other family and friends. Besides her husbands, Billy Earl Gambill and Cy Kuffel, she was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Maudie; brother-in-law, Royce Fulton, and sister, Waneta Fulton. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Maramec United Methodist Church, Maramec, Oklahoma with Rev. Jeff Kuhn officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Pawnee. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Good Shepherd Hospice, 6218 S Lewis, Suite 110, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74136 or The Rennisance, 1400 E. McElroy, Stillwater, Oklahoma, 74075.
