Amelia Mira Eppler

Amelia Mira Eppler, 85, of Pawnee Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. She was born on August 27, 1928 in Pawnee Oklahoma to Joseph Albert Eppler II and Myra Lone Chief Eppler. Her favorite things to do were to read and write. Whenever you saw her at the house, she would always be reading some random book she found lying around. She liked to take off for long walks, and would walk all the way to the campgrounds and see if her grandkids were there during Pawnee Pow-wow. She enjoyed watching football, and her favorite college team is the OU Sooners. Anything that involved OU, no matter what sport, she would be watching it. She would watch football all day long, and give the scores of the game to whoever walked in the door. Her favorite pro team was the New York Giants, and her favorite television shows were Lawrence Welk Show, Bonanza, and MASH. If you ever drove by Illinois Street on Saturday evening, there was a chance that you heard the Lawrence Welk Show blasting. When she watched her show, she wanted everyone to know it. She would never eat frybread, but always enjoyed a good meat pie, and would always refer to frybread as grease bread. Pepsi and floats were her favorite drinks. Halloween was one of her favorite times of the year, because of the scary outfits that the trick or treaters would wear. She was baptized at the Pawnee Indian Baptist Church in 2011 on Easter Sunday. Amelia is survived by her grandkids, nieces, nephews, and one brother, Joseph Albert Eppler III of Severy Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Albert Eppler II and Myra Lone Chief Eppler, her son, Cy Eppler, and her two brothers, Val Charles Eppler and Teddy Manuel Eppler. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Pawnee Nation Roam Chief Event Center, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
